SCPS Serves the One Millionth Georgia Pre-K Student

Georgia has accepted its millionth child into its lottery-funded pre-kindergarten program.

Holly Robinson, commissioner of the Department of Early Care and
Learning, said Wednesday the student, who was not named, attends
Sumter County Primary School in Americus. Georgia started its free pre-K program in 1992.

This year, 82,000 children are enrolled in pre-K in 4,100 classrooms across the state.
