October 5 – 9 is Georgia Pre-K Week. Sumter County Primary School Pre-K students celebrated with fun and exciting virtual activities. The students enjoyed the virtual letter parade during the week. Makenleigh in Ms. Kiff and Ms. Westberry’s class dressed as a tiger for the letter “T”!

Sumter County Primary School recently received a generous donation of student and teacher supplies for use in our classrooms from our local Walmart. We appreciate Walmart reaching out and partnering with us as we serve the students of Sumter County.
Sumter County Primary School begins the 2020-2021 school year virtually for all students. Parents, teachers, and students are working to make the digital learning environment very exciting and rewarding for every child. Students are learning math, reading, language arts, science, and social studies, as well as participating in connection classes including art, music, P.E., and computer. Lessons are both synchronous and asynchronous meaning teachers are teaching live lessons as well as posting lessons for students to complete independently. SCPS is excited about this new learning adventure and continuing to meet the needs of each student and family.
Sumter County Schools has provided each student with a device as the 2020-2021 school year begins virtually. Sumter County Primary School Chromebook distribution has been a great success. During the four days, SCPS gave out over 600 Chromebooks to Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade students.
